- Immigrants try again to pass through Slovenia and Hungary
Thousands of migrants stranded in Croatia are attempting to move towards North again though Slovenia and Hungary have shown clearly that it will stop them. Friday night, the Slovenian police had no reluctance to use tear gas on a group of refugees trying to cross from the neighboring country.
Croatia, Hungary accused of violating international law after authorities there decided to send asylum seekers across the border without previously registered. Zagreb initially said that the newcomers were welcome, but when since Wednesday, the number of immigrants entering the Croatian soil arrived at 17,000, then he closed all border crossings, leaving open only the main highway connecting the Croatian capital with Serbs.
Deeply divided the migrants face of crisis, the EU holds next week another round of emergency talks. Interior ministers of the bloc meet next Tuesday in an effort to find a common language in terms of resettlement of these people under a scheme of compulsory quotas for each member.
A day after their European Union leaders will gather in an extraordinary summit on immigration.
